Great Monitor January 13, 2010 R. Nightingale 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This monitor is great... I don't have any complaints. The stand went on perfectly, it probably took me 1 minute because I'm not the best when it comes to putting stuff together. BUT THIS STAND WAS A PIECE OF CAKE!!! Don't listen to all those lunatics who complain about the stand and bring the rating down. It is a great monitor!
3 -4 stars on first day January 2, 2010 Tom Pain (Ca) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Probably closer to 4, but I'll need more time to evaluate. Concerning the mounting base. The little thumb tab on the screw on the base is a little frustrating, my camera tripod has same and for an old f**t w/ authoritis it can be a challenge. But I noticed all the negative remarks seem to be due to the assembly of the base. There are 2 "male" locators on the base that fit into corresponding "female" holes on the monitor, (at about 10 & 2 o'clock} get these aligned and your set to crank down - snug not tight. Pretty stable after that. Didn't need the software - couldn't get it open in anycase. Up graded a Viewsonic A70 - must be 10 yrs old still works. Like trading my wife in for a 40 yr old girl.
Update after 1 weeks use: I'd up to 4 / 4.5 - noticed a tag on the upper right hand corner (front)says 50,000:1 Dynamic Ratio. Haven't checked factory specs but that's a bargain. Advertised @ 15,000:1!
nice screen "but" December 26, 2009 Melvin F. Martin (Glendora, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very nice screen output, very bright and has the necessary controls needed for a monitor, BUT, the stand is serious drawback for a picky user. I got the base on but looked at the screen with head tilted to the right. For what ever reason the screen was tilted with the right side lower. I have placed a old mouse pad under the right side to raise it a little. Just going to add felt feet to one side of the base.
This does reduce the overall product which is should be unnecessary. All Samsung needed was to improve a obvious defect but they choose not to do due. And yes, it does wobble on my desk but we only use for normal home internet use, I found it is bearable. This product should have 4 to 5 rating but the issue on the base brings it down, sorry they choose this action.
You got it wrong about the stand... December 3, 2009 Ghassan 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It is so easy to attach the stand to Samsung monitor...So, you guys you got it wrong about the stand. It is a great monitor.
wobbles horribly November 4, 2009 Todd T. Doucet This monitor wobbles horribly when I type, because the pedestal is not stable. There is too much weight on a thin, spindly pedestal. Unless I put it on a rock-solid desk with no vibration, this monitor wobbles so bad that it is, for me, unusable.
Also, it is difficult to assemble this misguided pedestal assembly. Just check all the problems people have had with this.
But once it is assembled correctly, it still wobbles horribly.
I am amazed that Samsung would sell such a product.
