the Samsung T240 is not what you think it is. Sometimes it looks like a TV and sometimes it is not. Got to be very careful

I am a serious photographer who spends a lot of time in PhotoShop. I foolishly bought this product believing that it was a suitable monitor for serious graphics work. Shame on me. I should have spent the money on an Apple or other serious (but not over the top) alternative. It is very fuzzy. The color, even after numerous attempts at calibration, is miles off. The controls on the side are a joke and impossible to see. I am astonished to read some reviews that acknowledge that the controls stink but go on to lavish praise on the product because it is stylish. The documentation is terrible, using abbreviations that are nowhere defined. If you want to see your email in big fuzzy letters, this may be a good machine for you. If image quality is a serious concern, look elsewhere. There are lots of alternatives out there.

I read the reviews and had mid-high expectations. I was severely disappointing. The viewing angle is a big issue. Colors are different from the top of the screen to the bottom because the viewing angles are so bad. Colors themselves are a problem. I worked for hours trying to get the greens right. Never did. 2 days in and already found a dead pixel. There aren't any angle adjustments on the it. I didn't think it would be an issue for me but it clearly is. I would not recommend this monitor to anyone. There are better ones out there in the price range.

When I initially bought the T240 monitor, I was home more during the day, and there was a decent amount of light around the home. I always assumed that because it was a Touch of Color monitor, that it would have the same picture quality as their ToC HDTV line, which I have the LN46A750. Boy, was I disappointed to find out that it was only a TN-panel, I never knew that up until it was too late. It was always assumed that since this was one of Samsung's higher-end monitors, that it would've used their own S-PVA technology.
Needless to say, now that I've been using it for a while, and now that I'm home at night, and work during the day, I've begun to notice that the shades of black were NOT deep at all, no matter how I tried to configure the settings, since I've been playing some games that have cutscenes, the black bars were too brightly gray. So I went and traded this monitor in for the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP, and I don't regret that move. I have a far better monitor now, and it can handle low-lighting situations a whole lot better, and it does have that premium picture quality that I was really looking for.
The T240 was a fine monitor to start out with, and it was good for certain tasks that I did more of during the day, and did handle motion well, as well as making the internet legible to use. However, it did start to get a little fuzzy as time went along... Also, I started to hate that the monitor has to cycle through all the different inputs when you reboot your PC, that's as annoying as ever.
Bottom line, even tho this was a great monitor for doing internet and casual use during the day, it's not really that good with games, nor with Media Center when you're watching a DVD or TV over PC. Rating this a C+ for right now.
